About the CVB

 

The Winchester-Frederick County Convention and Visitors Bureau was formed in 2001 as the official destination marketing organization for the Winchester-Frederick County area. The WFCCVB operates the Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center at 1400 S. Pleasant Valley Road. The CVB opened its award-winning visitors center in May 2008, and welcomes visitors from 9am – 5pm seven days a week.


Purpose and Mission

The purpose of the Winchester-Frederick County Convention and Visitors Bureau is to promote tourism-related service providers, organizations, attractions, museums, and points of interest throughout the region so long as the City of Winchester and Frederick County will benefit either directly or indirectly.
The WFCCVB fosters the area economy by marketing our community as a destination, enhancing the visitor’s experience, and supporting product development.


Tourism Board

The WFCCVB receives guidance and leadership from the Winchester-Frederick County Tourism Board. The Board consists of 14 members. This includes five private sector voting representatives, four public/non-profit sector voting representatives, and five economic development/local government non-voting representatives.

Winchester-Frederick County Tourism Board meetings are held monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 8am. Meetings are open to the public and take place at the Visitors Center, 1400 S. Pleasant Valley Rd, Winchester.
