In a hurry? Justice of the Peace? Small Wedding?

Formalities Bridal, 157 N. Loudoun St. Winchester, VA will rent you a bridal gown for 3 hours! The rental fee is $75.00 per gown with veil, available on select bridal gowns. Formalities can make a miniature wedding cake for $25.00. This is a 6 inch tall cake that serves two. Or, they can make a two tiered cake that will serve 10 people. While Virginia is for Lovers, Winchester-Frederick County is known as a choice destination for weddings. Whether it was for quick vows before a justice of the peace or an elegant ceremony, many folks from PA, MD, NY, WV, and Washington, D.C. married here.

If you married in Winchester, Stephens City, or Middletown, Virginia, we want to hear your story. Did you run away to get married? Did you have funny or inspiring incidents or experiences? What's your secret to a long marriage? While pictures aren't required, the CVB may request them from the winning couples.

The rules are simple:

  • You must currently live 50 miles or more from Winchester-Frederick County, Virginia.
  • You must have traveled 50 miles or more to marry in Winchester, Stephens City, or Middletown.
  • You must be currently married to the same person for 25 years or more.
  • The Winchester-Frederick County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) will be using submitted stories for inclusion in their wedding promotions.
  • No addresses or emails will be shared. Only names and states.

(Trips must be taken between April 1 and October 31, 2010).
