154th Battle of Cedar Creek Commemoration Programs and Events

Please Note: The Reenactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek (organized by the Cedar Creek Battlefield Foundation) has been canceled.

The National Park Service and Belle Grove Plantation will host a series of special activities, events and programs to commemorate the battle.

Belle Grove Plantation is located at 336 Belle Grove Road, Middletown VA 22645.

Friday, October 19

1:00 pm – 154th Anniversary Battle of Cedar Creek Tour (Tour starts at NPS Visitor Contact Station, 7712 Main Street, Middletown, VA 22645)
4:00 pm – History at Sunset “Sabers and Spencers: Custer and the Cavalry at Cedar Creek” (Tour starts at NPS Visitor Contact Station, 7712 Main Street, Middletown, VA 22645)

Saturday, October 20
9:00 am
– “Advance and Retreat – Gordon’s Attack At Cedar Creek” (Tour starts at NPS Visitor Contact Station, 7712 Main Street, Middletown, VA 22645)
10 am – 4 pm – Belle Grove Manor House and Museum Shop open
10:30 am – Cedar Creek in a Box (Location: Front lawn of Belle Grove)
11:30 am – Demonstration by 10th Virginia Volunteer Infantry (Location: Belle Grove)
12:30 pm – Cedar Creek in a Box (Location: Front lawn of Belle Grove)

2:00 pm – “Kneading in Silence, a Glimpse into the life Judah the Enslaved Cook” (Location: Lower level of Manor House, 336 Belle Grove Road, Middletown VA 22645)
2:30-3:00 pm – Update on Archaeological Investigations of the Belle Grove Enslaved Quarter Site (Location: Lower level of Manor House, 336 Belle Grove Road, Middletown VA 22645)

Admission:
*For all programs at Belle Grove Plantation admission is $5.00 for those 13 and older. Admission will be free for those 12 and younger as well as Belle Grove and national Trust for Historic Preservation members with a current registration card.

NO LARGE BAGS OR BACKPACKS ALLOWED; BAGS SUBJECT TO SEARCH
