History of the Frederick County Courthouse

Stop by the Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum in downtown Winchester to hear SVBF Park Ranger, Wade Custer, talk about the history of the historic Frederick County Courthouse (now the museum). The courthouse was built in 1840 and was used by both sides during the Civil War as a hospital, a prison, and a barracks. Talks begin in front of the museum. The cost is free and no registration is required. Simply show up!

Tour will also take place Tuesday, July 26, 2022, 11am.
