Frederick County Fair

6 days of fun!

Come out and support the 4-H and FFA youth of Frederick County! Monday through Thursday evenings there will be a livestock show of varying species. These kids work hard with their project animals. So come out and cheer them on.

Other entertainment includes beauty pageants, a rodeo, Frederick County’s Got Talent talent show, monster trucks, petting zoo and circus performances, local musical artists, drag racing and truck and tractor pulls. Don’t forget the fair favorites…Pie eating contest, mutton busting, and the tot’s pig scramble! Carnival rides and games from Wednesday – Saturday.

Loudoun Street Mile

Celebrate Memorial Day by running in the Loudoun Street Mile! This event consists of a mile run, a fitness walk, and a tot trot.

This is the 36th annual edition of the Loudoun Street Mile which traverses Loudoun Street in Historic Old Town Winchester, Virginia. This years race will serve as the RRCA National Championship Race as well the Collegiate Running Association Championship race.

Dinosaur Land

Step into the world of the prehistoric past, where visitors can turn back the pages of time to the Mesozoic era, when dinosaurs were the only creatures that roamed the earth. Dinosaur Land has been attracting visitors since around 1963. Many new dinosaurs have been added over the years. Over 50 life size dinosaurs from small to giant are on display. Bring your camera!

Holly Jolly Old Town Celebration

Come spend some time in Old Town this holiday season during our Holly Jolly Celebration on December 14th!

Enjoy caroling and holiday activities including free holiday wagon rides from 1-4 p.m. Specials at shops and restaurants all day.

Returning for a second year, shop at the Old Town Farmers Market – Holiday Market from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Here you will find local in-season farm goods including varieties of garlic, squash, heritage breed pork, jams and jellies, fresh small batch roasted coffee beans, spice rubs and seasonings, artisan chocolates and cake pops, natural health and beauty products, festive iced cookies and gingerbread kits, botanical ornaments and home decor items, homemade novelty soaps, and handcrafted jewelry and hair accessories. Sip on hot cocoa and enjoy warm frosted nuts and fresh kettle corn while you shop!

Children can create a holiday craft while waiting to meet Santa Claus at Santa’s Headquarters from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Godfrey Miller House (28 S. Loudoun Street).

Enjoy holiday carols throughout Old Town Winchester provided by local choral groups.

Free horse drawn wagon rides will be offered from 1-4 p.m. Meet in front of the Old Courthouse (20 N. Loudoun Street) to pick up a timed ticket beginning at 1pm. Tickets go fast! No need to stand in line! Enjoy holiday shopping and dining in Old Town and return to the wagon area prior to your ticket time.

Families can visit Handley Library from 1-3 p.m. for classic holiday movies as well as interactive stations and make-and-take crafts.

Follow the Star – Living Nativity Drive Through

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO DECEMBER 12 and 13.

December 5 and 6, 5-9pm

Follow the Star is a dramatic and immersive live nativity experience celebrating its 11th year in Winchester, Virginia.

This year Follow the Star will be a drive through Nativity, in the Parking Lot of Fellowship Bible Church. You will be greeted by traffic attendants who will show you where to drive and you will experience Follow the Star from the warmth and safety of your vehicle. Expect delays when you arrive, but we will have Christmas music for your listening enjoyment. The audio portion will be through a Spotify link given to you when you arrive- or a CD, if that’s your preference. There will be live drama- including animals- for your enjoyment as you drive through the event.

Open to the public. All are welcome!

Pumpkin Festival

Pumpkin Festival: Saturday, October 28 (9am-5pm)

Come find the “great pumpkin.” Choose from ones already picked or pick your own. Enjoy pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin bars and pumpkin donuts from our bakery. Blue Ridge Bar-B-Q, 3 Fires Oven Pizza, and Stir Krazy Kettle Korn will be here. We’ll have a variety of crafters/vendors in front of the farm market and the kids can hop on the cow train for a ride and everyone can enjoy the scenic wagon ride around the farm.

Richard’s Apple Festival

FREE Admission!

Join us on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 11am – 4pm for our Apple Festival! We’ll have live music, farm food (our own burgers, farm-to-crust pizza, hotdogs, & more), a tasting table, wine & craft beer, and of course, LOTS of apples!

​This is a family-friendly event, so bring the kids and spend the day in the country with us! Have fun in our petting zoo or run around until they’re exhausted. We’ll have outdoor games like badminton & cornhole too.

The event is rain or shine, but no worries – there’s plenty of undercover space if a sprinkle happens along.

Apple Harvest Festival

Saturday, Oct. 7 (9am-5pm) & Sunday, Oct. 8 (10am-5pm)

Everything apples!

Multiple varieties of apples to choose from, with pick your own available. We’ll have homemade apple cobbler, fresh apple cider, apple pies, apple turnovers, apple pie ice cream, and of course apple cider donuts.

Enjoy music by Five of A Kind on Saturday from 1-4 PM and Allen Boyd and The Waysiders on Sunday from 1-3 PM.
