Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival

The 2019 Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival will be held at the Frederick County Fairgrounds and continues to grow with attendance over 7,500 people! The festival has always been family (and pet) friendly!

WHAT’S NEW THIS YEAR: BUBBLEBALL by Wonderfly Games… and a human HAMSTER BALL. Come out (Sunday only, noon-5pm ) and try the hilarious new activity that is fun for all ages!

Craftsmen and Vendors:Local and Regional Artisans and Vendors throughout the grounds and two (2) buildings.

CANINE OBSTACLE COURSE: Since we are pet friendly, this new fun-to-watch and fun-to-participateactivity is our new fun element for our four-legged friends (Saturday only).

KIDZONE AREA with INFLATABLES: An area just for the kids with Knocker Ball, Giant Slide, Obstacle and Bounce House, face painting and other fun activities. Meet Little Joe our minature horse.

ANTIQUE CAR SHOW AND BINGO

TAP & CORK TASTING (HARD CIDERS & CRAFT BEERS) Must be 21 and over with ID required. Tasting fee extra. Live entertainment nearby makes this a can’t miss attraction!

APPLE PIE EATING CONTEST HOSTED BY WHITE HOUSE/NATIONAL FRUIT: What would an apple harvest festival be without the popular apple pie eating contest? Center stage, Sunday at 3pm!

APPLE PIE BAKING CONTEST/FREE APPLE: Watch while the judges sample the variety of homemade pies in the apple theme booth. The Apple Theme Arena is where you can get a free apple and apple cider. Meet representatives of the Virginia Old Time Apple Growers Association and the Alson Smith VA Tech Research Lab, ask questions and see the over 60 varieties of apples on display.

APPLE BUTTER MAKING: Made fresh on-site. Almost guaranteed your purchase will still be warm!

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT: Continuous entertainment featuring Nashville star Blake Esse (currently touring with Clint Black), Robbie Limon, Bud’s Collective and Jimmy Lee…all family friendly.

FOOD CONCESSIONS: Plenty of EVERYTHING APPLE along with Apple Pie, Apple Dumplings, BBQ, Crab Cakes, Turkey Legs, Donuts, Ice Cream, Kettle Corn, Lemonade and all your festival favorites!

Richard’s Peach Festival

Family Fun Day on the Farm!

FREE Admission! Join us on Sunday, August 18, 2019 from 11am – 4pm for our Peach Festival! We’ll have live music, farm food (our own burgers, farm to crust pizza, hotdogs, peach milkshakes & more), a tasting table, wine & craft beer, and of course, LOTS of apples!

This is a family friendly event, so bring the kids and spend the day in the country with us! Have fun in our petting zoo, take a ride on the hay wagon, let the kids cruise around in the barrel train, or just run around til they’re exhausted. We’ll have badminton & corn hole too.

The event is rain or shine, but no worries – there’s plenty of undercover space if a sprinkle happens along.

Winchester Greek Festival

The Annual Winchester Greek Festival will take place on Saturday, August 17th and Sunday, August 18th, 2019.

Sample our legendary Greek cuisine and experience our renown Greek music and dance. Truly great fun for the entire family! A large selection of tasty Greek food is available.

The Book Store will be open offering religious items and reading material of the Orthodox faith.

Other retail vendors will also be set-up to display their various items for purchase.

Admission is free and ample free parking is available.

Greek cooking offers an incredibly rich and diverse array of foods that are the culmination of literally thousands of years of good living, cooking, and eating. While each Greek menu item offered is fresh and inviting, it is also a culinary trip to Greece. Our talented ladies of the church work for days in advance of the festival creating delicious Greek food.

Friday Night Live

Unwind and enjoy all that Old Town Winchester has to offer at Friday Night Live (FNL). Friday Night Live is the perfect opportunity to meet up with friends, shop, dine and enjoy great live music, street performers and artisans. The Taylor Pavilion will be the main venue for performances every third Friday in June, July and August, however, the Loudoun Street Mall will be filled with music and activities for all to enjoy.

July’s lineup will feature the award-winning Mid-Atlantic regional band, The WORX. The WORX plays everything from Journey to Flo Rida during their show. They are a real crowd pleaser and regional favorite! The WORX will bring all demographics to their shows due to their wide variety of tunes.

Of Ale and History Beer Festival

Join us for the longest running beer festival in Virginia–the ‘Of Ale and History’ Beer Festival now in its 24th year! Featuring live music from Mojo Mothership and The Robbie Limon Band, 50+ beers, local food and merchandise vendors. This is a rain or shine event but feel free to bring your own chairs and pop-up tents. Please do not bring pets, coolers, outside food or drink. And don’t forget your ID!

The 2019 “Of ALE AND HISTORY” features live music from MOJO MOTHERSHIP (11:00AM-2:30PM) & the Robbie Limon Band (3:00-6:00PM)

Garden Fair – Mother’s Day Weekend

It’s the 30th Annual Garden Fair!

Garden Fair is a huge outdoor plant and garden supply sale with nearly 100 vendors from several states. Vendors will offer native plants, perennials, annuals, small trees, berry bushes and more, as well as fine items for the home and garden.
$15 per car, $10 if paid online in advance.

Bring your receipt to get in both Saturday and Sunday!

All proceeds benefit the Foundation of the State Arboretum and its programs.

Apple Harvest Festival

Saturday, Oct. 6 (9am-5pm) & Sunday, Oct. 7 (10am-5pm)
Everything apples!

20 varieties of apples to choose from, with pick your own available. Apple cobbler and apple cider slushees can be enjoyed while sitting on the front porch or listening to the music each day from 1-3 P.M.

For the kids we have the cow train, a playground and room to run. A variety of food will be available at the food building. Wagon rides around the farm scheduled throughout the day.

Cider Celebration at Winchester Ciderworks

Come celebrate the harvest at Winchester Ciderworks.

There will be ongoing orchard and cidery tours throughout the day, live entertainment, food, yard games, and of course, cider!
