Heritage Day

Celebrate women’s history month and the centennial of Women’s Suffrage at this free genealogy-focused event featuring tables hosted by historical societies and research organizations and two lectures. At 10:30 a.m., Library of Virginia exhibitions coordinator Barbara Batson will discuss the challenges and opportunities tracing women’s history in the presentation “Where are the Women?” and at noon, MSV Curator of Collections Nick Powers and MSV Registrar and Collections Manager Lauren Fleming will discuss preserving and protecting textiles. Heritage Day will also include free drawings for prizes from Ancestry®.

Heritage Day activities are free to all. Lecture seating is first-come, first-served. Tickets available beginning at 10 a.m. on the day of the event. MSV admission fee applies to visit the galleries. Exploring Your Civil War Roots

Join Shenandoah Valley Battlefield Foundation Chairman Nicholas Picerno, Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum Staff, and volunteers in an opportunity to explore your Civil War Ancestry.

The public is invited to join us at the Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum at 20 N. Loudoun Street in Winchester, Virginia, from 1-4 PM. We will conduct free, live research while you wait. Any questions please email: cdalton@svbf.net.
