Plaid Friday Walking Tour

Looking for a fun activity to do with visiting relatives over the Thanksgiving holiday? This special Winchester history tour has a unique holiday spin!

Learn about local traditions and hear stories about Christmases past. Meet in front of the Kurtz Building (2 N. Cameron Street) on the corner of Cameron Street and Boscawen Street.

Civil War History Trolley Tour

This non-stop 22 mile trip will take you on a tour of the battlegrounds of six major battles fought in and around the City of Winchester. Ride through the city and into the countryside where over 140,000 Confederate and Union soldiers met on the area’s battlefields during the four year period of 1861-1865. The remains of many of those brave soldiers are resting in the Mt. Hebron Stonewall Confederate Cemetery and the Winchester National Cemetery. Meet your guide and the trolley at the Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center, located at 1400 S. Pleasant Valley Road.

Second Battle of Kernstown Anniversary

On Wednesday, July 24th, the actual date of the Second Battle of Kernstown, the Battlefield will be open from 10 am to 4 pm.

KBA docents give tours of the Battlefield, the 1854 Pritchard House, the Museum and the Artillery Annex collections.

Free and open to the public.

Sightseeing Express Trolley Tour

60 sites in 60 minutes! Hop aboard the trolley for a one-hour sightseeing excursion of Winchester. Your professional tour guide will entertain you while pointing out historical sites, museums, and other attractions as the trolley travels the same streets that George Washington, General Stonewall Jackson, General Phil Sheridan, Rear Admiral Richard Byrd, and the legendary Patsy Cline traveled.

Meet your guide and the trolley at the Winchester-Frederick County Visitors Center located at 1400 S. Pleasant Valley Road. The tour has no stops. Fee: $10.
