Memorial Day Observance

A Memorial Day observance will be held at Winchester National Cemetery with keynote speaker Anthony Barnes, Veterans Outreach Specialist for Rep. Jennifer Wexton, D-10th.

Prior to Memorial Day, and in preparation for the event, the community is invited to Winchester National Cemetery in the yearly tradition, known as ‘Flags In’ by placing an American Flag at the headstone of the more than 5,500 Veterans resting at Winchester National Cemetery. Loudoun Street Mile

Celebrate Memorial Day by running in the 32nd Loudoun Street Mile! This family-friendly event features scheduled heats so Mom and Dad can enjoy a race and give their kids a taste of racing as well! Participants receive a T-shirt with their registrations, available in adult and youth sizes. The event also features random door prizes throughout the event culminating in an awards ceremony at 10:00 am.

Loudoun Steet Mile proceeds benefit the Laurel Center, a local shelter for victims of domestic abuse. Since 2002, the race has raised $35,000 for this local non-profit.
