Full Moon Night Hike

Experience The Trails at the MSV after hours! Enjoy a discussion of the moon and its historical and cultural significance, then connect with the nighttime landscape on a 1.5-mile hike guided by the light of the moon. Walk includes steep inclines and decline; dress for the terrain and weather. Led by Sally Meyer, MSV adult programs manager. For ages 12 and older.

MSV members $8; all others: $12. Register by March 17; visit www.theMSV.org or call 540-662-1473, ext. 240. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult; please register for all participants. Meet at the Silo. Walk-ins welcome as space permits.

Abram’s Creek Nature Walk

Join seasoned naturalist and past Northern Shenandoah Valley Audubon Society President Jim Smith for his nature walks in the Abrams Creek area in the heart of Winchester.

Meet at 8:30 AM at intersection of Jubal Early Drive, Handley Ave, and Meadow Branch Ave. On street parking is available on Handley Ave. and Meadow Branch Ave. Dress for the weather and you may want to bring water, binoculars, and a camera. Walks will be cancelled in inclement weather.

No fee, no registration required. Great family activity. Tour is offered April 15, April 29, and May 13.

Abram’s Creek Nature Walk

Join seasoned naturalist and current Northern Shenandoah Valley Audubon Society President Jim Smith for his nature walks in the Abrams Creek area in the heart of Winchester. Meet at the Children of America’s parking lot off of West Jubal Early Drive, approx. 1/2 mile west of Valley Avenue. Park at the west/right side of the lot by the woods.

Focus will be on birds, flowers, trees and signs of spring.

If you arrive late, simply walk the path until you catch up with the group. Allow approx. 2 hours for the walk. Dress for the weather and you may want to bring water, binoculars, and a camera. Walks will be cancelled in inclement weather.
