Cline’s style in fashion evolved along with her sophisticated sound, she reinvented her personal style, shedding her trademark Western cowgirl outfits for more elegant gowns and dresses. Always a fashion forward trend setter, this coat is a Good Girl brand 1960’s long leather coat with silk lining, she and other celebrities of the time sported leather clothing in all colors and metallic finishes.

This special exhibit will launch an initiative to raise funds to conserve and restore textile objects in Celebrating Patsy Cline’s collection to safeguard them for future generations. The estimated cost for conserving this leather coat is $3,500.00. Textile objects are among the most sensitive in museum collections, and their rate of deterioration slows significantly with proper preventive care. Any funds garnered above this goal will be used to conserve additional objects in the collection in preparation for public exhibition by Celebrating Patsy Cline, and for loan to other museums and institutions.
