The New Doc’s Meet

Owners of antique Hudson, Essex and Terraplane automobiles will convene in Winchester, Va. on May 10-12 for “The New Doc’s Meet”, an annual occasion with a heritage that extends back 56 years. The event attracts participants from at least twelve states. This year, for the first time, it will be centered at the Hampton Inn Winchester-North, at 1204 Berryville Ave. near the intersection of Routes 7 and I-81.

Things get underway during the afternoon on Friday the 10th, with a gathering in the hotel’s hospitality room. On Saturday morning Hudson owners will drive to the Apple Blossom antique car show at Jim Barnett Park in Winchester, where their cars will be entered in a special “Hudson” class. After the show they’ll travel to Bluemont for an afternoon get-together at the home of a local Hudson collector. The day ends with a buffet dinner at the nearby Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company.

An all-Hudson car show and flea market, held Sunday from 8:00 AM to noon at the Hampton Inn parking lot, completes the weekend. The public is welcome to come and view the cars.

The event is jointly sponsored by the Tri-State Mountain Roads and the Chesapeake Bay chapters of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club.

ADMISSION FEE:  Meet registration fee (for participants) is $ 5 per family.  No charge for spectators.
