Tours of Stonewall Jackson’s Headquarters

This November, Stonewall Jackson’s Headquarters will remain open on weekends for guided tours.

This Hudson River Gothic Revival style house, a Virginia and National Historic Landmark, was used as headquarters by General “Stonewall” Thomas Jackson during the winter of 1861-1862.

The house contains the largest collection of Jackson memorabilia and also personal objects from members of his staff. The museum has on display Jackson’s personal prayer table, initialed prayer book, and many other Jackson family artifacts.

Friday and Saturday: 10 am to 4 pm
Sunday: 12 pm to 4 pm

Admission: Adults $5.00; Seniors $4.50; Students K-12 $2.50

Following the short ceremony, attendees may walk along the COVID-19 Memorial Wall installed along the fence at N. Cameron and E. Piccadilly Streets featuring 223,236 hearts representing the lives lost to the virus.

The ceremony will feature area faith leaders, students, and musicians. The public is invited. Please wear a facemask and plan to observe physical distancing.

The Memorial Wall will remain in place through October 31.

Blessing of the Vines

Join us at James Charles Winery Saturday, October 17th for a European Tradition of the Blessing of the Vines.

Reverend Bjon Lundberg from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Winchester will bless the vineyard to ensure a bountiful harvest.

Blessing starts at 2:00pm. Immediately following the blessing, light fare and our wonderful James Charles wines will be available for purchase in the tasting room.

We will be joined by The Knights of Columbus, offering sandwiches and other foods with sales supporting the MSGR Stanley Krempa Soup Kitchen.

This is open to the public and it is free to attend!
