Coldest Night of the Year 2K and 5K Walk

February 24 @ 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Step outside the warmth and comfort of home for an evening and walk for WATTS (Winchester Area Temporary Transitional Shelter) on Saturday, February 24, 2024 for their 2nd annual ‘Coldest Night of the Year’ fundraiser walk in Winchester, VA. A national event held in participating cities all over the U.S. and Canada that day, the Winchester Walk raises funds locally for WATTS and their mission to end homelessness in Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke Counties one life at a time.

Choose between the 2K or the 5K – both routes go around downtown Winchester along the sidewalks and on the walking mall, with the 5K taking you through the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley trails and past WATTS’ evening bus pickup location. A great way to see the sights of Winchester on a guided route!

Check-in for the Walk is at 4:00 p.m. with special guest speakers, including Virginia’s Lieutenant Governor, Winsome Sears, giving send-off remarks prior to the 5:00 p.m. walk departure. Starting and ending location is Braddock Street UMC at 115 Wolfe Street. A simple soup kitchen will be offered upon completion of the Walk. A fun, but meaningful event that everyone is welcome and invited to join!

It’s not too late – Registration is completely free and available online at www.cnoy.com/winchester. Sign-up to walk, donate to a walker or team, or volunteer for the event!
