Let Freedom Swing!
July 3 @ 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Get your dancing shoes on–it’s an all-American block party! We’re celebrating Independence Day with some local stars of our own (stripes optional) through this FREE event at the Taylor Pavilion!
Come down in the afternoon to take in hometown favorites RTG with their signature brand of jazz-funk jams from 3:00 – 4:30, then stroll the mall until our headliners take the stage and you can take the dance floor!
The Silver Tones Swing Band is made up of professional musicians from the Northern Virginia area, and the band has performed all over the DC Metropolitan Area at countless galas and special celebrations. This high-energy swing orchestra performs the exciting music of the 1940s era in addition to the swinging hits of the 1950s, 60s, and beyond. Vocalists Wendy Marie, Gene Bates, and Larke Pain bring to life the music of Frank Sinatra, the Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, The Beatles, Elvis, Etta James, Bobby Darin, Natalie Cole, and other big band greats. This 13-piece swing orchestra, led by trumpeter Dave Shuma and vocalist Wendy Marie, is sure to get your toes tapping in a hurry.
Join us on the dance-floor or from your seats to celebrate our country’s birthday and future with the great American music of our past.
Winchester Brew Works and Valerie Hill Vineyard & Winery will be serving up local beers and wines with a percentage of sales going to Literacy Volunteers Winchester Area , so you can raise a glass to America and support a great cause in your own backyard.
