St. Paddy’s Celtic Fest

Celebrate the community’s Irish and Scottish heritage at the 5th annual Old Town Winchester St. Paddy’s Celtic Fest on Saturday, March 7 from noon to 9:00 p.m. This festival is free, and activities will take place inside Old Town Winchester businesses and along the Loudoun Street Mall (weather permitting).
Continued this year! During all scheduled performances, a percentage of food and drink sales will benefit SPCA of Winchester, Frederick, and Clarke Counties.
Celtic Games for Children and Irish Dancers
SPCA will host Celtic activities for children on the Old Courthouse lawn. The Celtic activities will provide a fun atmosphere for lads and lassies ages 3-12. Also, on the Courthouse lawn will be several Irish Dance Troupes performing throughout the day.
Other Fun Activities
A balloon artist, dancers, vendors, and bagpipers will be on the Loudoun Street Mall and in Old Town shops and restaurants throughout the day. There will also be alpacas on the Old Courthouse lawn. Winchester’s own Pipes and Drums bagpipers, one of the most popular musical groups, will fill the downtown with their beautiful music.
Back by popular demand this year, the Magic Lantern Theater and Handley Library will co-sponsor a 12:30 p.m. showing of the movie, The Quiet Man. A classic Irish film that takes place in the homestead of Ireland and features legendary actor, John Wayne.
